BRASS BARREL FLINTLOCK PISTOL, CIRCA 1790. Handsome quality gun with a 7 3/4" barrel that has some decorative engraving on the top. Also stamped with, circa 1790, barrel proof mark of a crown over crossed keys. Lock with maker's name "I PARR". Wood stock with an elaborate design of inset silver stringing at the rear of the barrel. Engraved brass furniture including the butt tang, trigger guard, ramrod sleeves, side plate and escutcheon. Overall length 13 1/2", Condition fine. This maker marking denotes the work of John Parr, Liverpool who worked pre 1795.
