19TH CENTURY SHIP'S FIGUREHEAD depicting a charming representation of a very young girl wearing her female brass band attire. She is wearing her very decorative band jacket and a straw hat with a fancy plume on top. In her right hand she holds a flower. 36" high. Excellent condition. Very unusual subject matter. One of a collection of four female figureheads we recently purchased from a collector who acquired most of them in the 1960's. They were recently repainted over the years using a palette of soft, pastel colors.
